Hello friends! 2023 has been a full year of activities! Jon and I still live in Conway Springs, Kansas and love our small-town life with frequent trips to bigger spaces.

Jon still works as a writer/editor for Lifewire and writes the occasional article for AddictiveTips and Android Police. I work for Haiku Games as Project Support, along with making escape rooms on the side. Both of us love being able to work from home, and take our work with us when we travel, meaning we can stay in each place for more than a few days at a time. This picture was taken on our 6th anniversary this past June. I can’t believe we’ve been together that long, and yet it still feels like only yesterday that we matched on Bumble!
My lovely friend Taylor was in charge of my hair and we started the year with a blue and green style, which faded over time. At one point I added purple to my roots and it was really pretty fading into teal! Then around Halloween, I asked for orange and red colors. Then those faded into a crazy rainbow! Still not sure how that happened, but I wasn’t mad!

Jon and I went on 5 different house-sits this year, starting with Fort Collins, CO. We stayed at my brother-in-law’s place in the mountains watching their dog, Lucy, and cat, Baby. We had a great time here, just like the previous year!

Then over the summer, we went back to our favorite fat cats in Norman, OK. The black one is Brie and the cow cat is Geronimo. Neither is super friendly, but we love this house-sit every time we get to come here. My parents came to visit us while we were there and my dad and I went to a painting class in OKC!

Immediately after Norman, we travelled to Fayetteville, AR to watch 3 Siamese kittens! They were basically teenagers at this point, but still very kitten-like! Their names are Frank, Ollie, and Josey. Frank and Ollie liked to hang out with me while I worked and sometimes were up to no good. Along with normal work, I made two puzzles, which you can still play online. (Here and here) I was in Arkansas for my 28th birthday so Jon treated me to sushi at a nice restaurant!

Our next housesit was to Lee’s Summit in Missouri. We got to watch two long-haired cats named Chelsea and Pudge. Both cats were super friendly, making it hard to leave them by the end of our stay!

Our last housesit was in Denton, TX right after Thanksgiving. We watched three indoor/outdoor cats that were incredibly independent, so not many photos of them. The one sitting next to the fireplace was called Venus. While in Texas, we visited a wild place called Meow Wolf – The Real Unreal, and played a scavenger hunt in downtown Dallas.

Here are some other random photos that make up this past year. I was in a local play in February where I played a fisherman’s daughter. (I’ll be in the 2024 play next February too!) My cryptic crossword book is selling really well on Amazon! I made several escape rooms, including a casino-themed game for Conway Springs High School after-prom. Can’t forget the actual casino trips we went on too! And during fall, Jon and I visited a very cute pumpkin patch.

All in all, a very good year. We are so thankful for our little family and work-from-home jobs that allow us to travel. 2024 will be a wonderful year as well, and we pray the same will be true for you. We are so thankful that you are in our lives! Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
